The inclusion of Yancy's memory is a little jarring, but Gipsy simply eases into it with him, reaching for the outstretched 'hand' with both of hers. She rebels in it, allowing the feeling of loss to overwhelm her, then comforts herself with the feeling of his sweetness and acceptance wash over her. The memory is perfect and beautiful and Gipsy feels - not for the first time in her life - honored and privileged to know him, and to have known Yancy, too.
If she could cry, she would - but the tears would be happy though tinged with the faintest hint if bittersweet regret.
She still blames herself, if just partially - at least, up until this moment. Raleigh makes her feel as if its possible to forgive herself, too.
We're alright.
